Mardi Gras is a great time for Special Events floral designers!!

​In Mobile, Mardi Gras offers the chance to show off the talents of many designers in one season. Flowers are abundant in the events of the season, such as the Coronations, Banquets, Luncheons, and the Balls.  

Special Event Florists are an emerging segment of the floral retail market. These artists create magnificent designs that are only for that one event. Although these creators have been providing this service for generations, many are being recognized as members of the floral community. The Society of American Florists acknowledge these designers as “Events-only Florists”. These are probably one of the best kept secrets in the floral market.

Most instances for special-event floral decorations are weddings. In Mobile, Mardi Gras provides a wonderful opportunity for the painting of floral scenes. These scenarios can be simple, such as table decorations, or elaborate, such as a total wall or a room! 

I have seen some gorgeous settings created with fresh flowers! We have very talented designers in our mists! There are some designers I hope to speak with in the coming weeks to share their designs. My goal is to present the designers and their works to increase the awareness of the talent around Mobile.
