It’s time for corsages and boutonnieres!!
Prom time is time for flowers. There are many choices, which can be overwhelming. Here are a few ideas.
Corsages are worn by the Ladies. It will include flowers, leaves, and a bow. Some designers add bling, such as bangles, pearls, or rhinestones. Corsages can be worn on the shoulder, as a wristlet, or as a hairpiece. Wristlets are created by attaching the corsage to a wristlet saddle. The saddle may be a simple elastic band, or with elaborate by adding lace or tulle. There are many selections of flowers to chose from, which include roses, carnations, orchids, and mixed spring flowers to name a few. In my opinion, the varieties that hold up the best for dances include roses, carnations, daisies, and orchids.
Boutonnieres are worn by the Gentlemen. It is usually a single flower. Some use small clusters of mixed flowers. The boutonniere is pinned to the left lapel of the Gentleman’s Jacket. Boutonnieres do not have bows, if there is a bow it is a corsage. Ribbon can be added by wrapping the stem in ribbon.
Flowers are a great accessory to any formal. These are just a few thoughts for Prom Time. Have a great time!!
