Create an Advent Wreath where the candles never burn down!!! The Advent Wreath has four candles that are lit beginning on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day. There are 3 purple candles. and a single pink candle. The first week candle lit is purple for hope. The second candle is also purple for peace. The third candle is pink for Joy. The fourth Candle is purple for love. I love Advent Wreaths, but was scared to use them in my home because of the flame on the candle. I witnessed an Advent Wreath go up in flames at Church one year. I have been looking for a safer way to bring an Advent Wreath into my home. Then, I remembered mechanical candles. ![]() Mechanical candles, used in Weddings, have wax inserts inside a metal tube. As the wax burns, a spring-loaded insert keeps the wick at the top of the candle. The tube never loses the height. The wax inserts burn for about 2 hours, depending on the size of the insert. The mechanical candles I used were white. I removed the rubber ring from the bottom of each candle before painting. I spray painted 3 candles purple and one candle pink. After allowing the candles to dry, I replaced the rubber ring at the bottom of the candle. Places the candles in the wreath form and decorate the wreath. Remember, DO NOT LEAVE BURNING CANDLES UNATTENDED! Enjoy!!
