Bring Spring flowers indoors and realize the aromas that surround the flowers!
After Christmas, the focus turns to Valentine’s Day. Many venues fill their shelves with spring flowers of red and pink. Fill the winter season with the aromas of spring by arranging spring assortment of flowers in a tall rose vase. This allows the flowers more water, which increases the longevity of the blooms.

You will need:
             Bouquet of Mixed Flowers
             Blue Limonium
             Tall Rose Vase
             Floral Waterproof Tape

To capture the best results for the flowers, condition them first. Begin by choosing the bouquets of blooms early. Capture the blooms just as they are beginning to open. Remember, when choosing the bouquets, roses and lilies are the most memorable fragrances!
Fill a sink with warm water and add the floral preservative. Transfer some of this water to a clean bucket. Fill the bucket about 1/3 full. Set aside.

Prepare the flowers by removing all greenery that will be below the water line. Place the end of the flower stem underwater and cut about one half to an inch of the stem- underwater.  Place the cut stem in the bucket. Complete all bouquet selections. Let this bucket of flowers absorb the prepared water overnight, if possible.
To begin your arrangement, prepare the vase. I chose a tall rose vase. Place 2 pieces of floral waterproof tape across the top of the vase forming a cross. Then, wrap a long piece of waterproof tape along the rim of the vase, over the ends of the tape creating the cross. Trim the tape ends close to the band of tape.

The bouquet I chose was a mixture that included daisy pom-poms, carnations, gerbera daisies, roses, mums, and a single lily stem. I began with the daisy pom-poms. Don’t hesitate to cut the stems. Make sure to remove any leaves that will be below the waterline. Place the stems close to the rim of the vase. The blooms should cover the top of the vase.  I then began building the arrangement taller by placing the single bloom of the orange gerbera daisies to each side, taller than the daisies on the bottom. Then, place the yellow mums taller than the orange gerbera.  Place the carnations and roses taller than the mums and gerberas. Complete the height of the arrangement by placing the lily in the center of the arrangement. Add pieces of blue limonium throughout the arrangement. Place small bunches of blue limonium close to the rim of vase to hide the tape. Enjoy!
