Place an arrangement of fall colors in a Soup Tureen!
This centerpiece for a fall gathering, highlights the design of this Soup Tureen. Perfect for placing in the center of the buffet table. This arrangement was made in a plastic design bowl and placed in the Soup Tureen.
          You Will Need:
                    Mixed Fall Flowers
                    Plastic Design Bowl
                    Wet Floral Foam
                    Waterproof Floral Tape

Picture
I use design bowls to place in decorative containers. This adds variety to the setting by changing the container. It also protects the decorative container when caring for the flowers after arranging.

Begin the arrangement by preparing the design bowl. Choose a design bowl that will fit inside the decorative container. Make sure the design bowl fits within the container discreetly. Fill the design bowl with floral foam that rises about 1” over the rim of the bowl. Saturate the floral foam and place in the design bowl. Secure the foam to the bowl with waterproof floral tape. Place the design bowl inside the decorative container.
Arrange the flowers to fit the decorative container. In this arrangement, roses are used as the focal flower. Place the first focal flower at the center of the container, 1 ½  times the height of the container. Extend the two focal flowers on each side of the container, resting on the rim. These blooms should be the same length as the top bloom. Place a rose in the front, to the left and shorter than the tall rose. Place another rose in the back, to the right and opposite the second rose. Place a rose in the lower center of the arrangement. This should be shorter and to the right, between the two outer roses. Complete the placement of the roses by adding a rose in the lower center in the back of the arrangement.
Complete the arrangement by adding the secondary flowers and filler flowers. This will be determined by flower selections chosen. Remember to layer the blooms, not all at the same height. Place bright colors close to the floral foam to add depth. Add fall leaves. Tape some fall leaves on wire with floral wrap tape for height.

Surprise guests with a flower arrangement in School Colors!
A small arrangement in school drink tumbler adds to a tailgate setting. I used a combination of red, white, and blue, in a variety of flowers-Delphiniums, Carnations, and Pom-poms with Baby’s Breath. These are the colors of my Alma Mater, the University of South Alabama. Choose the tumbler and colors of your favorite team!

          You Will Need:
                    Drink Tumbler
                    Assorted Flowers
                    Wet Floral Foam

Begin this arrangement by preparing the tumbler. Cut the floral foam to fit the tumbler and extend out of the tumbler about 1”. Saturate the foam and place in the tumbler.
I chose to arrange this in a triangular, one-sided design. I begin by placing a tall blue delphinium to the back of the center of the floral foam. This stem should be 1 ½ times the height of the tumbler. Next, place another stem of delphinium to the side of the tumbler, resting  on the rim. It should be half the length of the first flower. Add another delphinium on the opposite side of the tumbler. Add a fourth stem of delphinium by placing it shorter than the tall stem and to left. Place another stem of delphinium shorter the last stem and on the opposite side of the tumbler.
I then added the red carnations. Take a carnation shorter than the tall delphinium and place it between the tall delphinium and to the right. Fill in with more red carnations. The carnations should be shorter, and behind the blue delphiniums. Be sure not to make the red carnations at the same height. Follow the same triangular design.
Finish the design by adding the white pom-poms. Place these blooms shorter than the red carnations. This gives depth to the arrangement. Be sure to place some white blooms close to the foam. Add Baby’s Breath throughout the arrangement. Place the arrangement in the tub of ice to keep the flowers fresher!

Flickering Candlelight for the tables of a Fall wedding.
For the wedding of a client many years ago, the Bridesmaids carried a lantern decorated with flowers. After the ceremony, the lanterns were placed on the tables of the reception. It also was a memento from the wedding for the Bridesmaids.
          You Will Need:
                    Lantern
                    Small Block of Wet Foam
                    Ribbon
                    Assorted Flowers
                    Autumn Leaves
                    #22 Florist Wire
                    Floral Wrap Tape
To begin this arrangement, cut a small block of wet foam to rest on the lid of the lantern, just below the ring. Saturate the wet foam. Cover a piece of florist wire with floral wrap tape. Wrap the tapped wire around the base of the ring to the lantern. Place the wet foam on the lid and wrap with the ends of the wire. Twist lightly to secure, don’t break the foam.
Take a piece of ribbon and tie around the base of the ring to the lantern covering the taped wire. Place small pieces of greenery in the wet foam to cover the foam. Make a small bow and place in the center of the wet foam. Fill around the bow with small blooms of assorted flowers. Place autumn leaves on the ends of small pieces of florist wire. Secure with floral wrap tape. Place pieces of wired leaves throughout the flowers and bow.  Be sure to place blooms to the back of the lantern, to complete the picture.

Flowers make a grand statement in a Church Setting!
To make the Reserved Pews stand out in the Church, create an arrangement on the pew that is proportional to the Church. A pew marker should be seen from the back of the Church, but not take over the setting of the front of the Church. The size of the flowers will be determined by the size of the pews and the Sanctuary
          You Will Need:
                      Ribbon
                      Pew Clips
                      Mini Wet Foam Holders
                      #22 Florist Wire
                      Floral Wrap Tape
                      Assorted Flowers
                      Greenery
Prepare the pew clip, by soaking the mini holders until saturated. Tape a piece of #22 wire with floral wrap tape. Insert taped wire through the slot in the clip. Pull the wire through the wet foam of the holders. I used 2 pieces of wire – one wire from top to bottom and one wire from side to side. Secure the wires. Cut off excess wire.
Prepare a small bow. Make large streamers. Attach the bow to the wood pick. Tape the wire of the bow to wood pick with floral wrap tape. Set bow aside.
I prepared the pew marker on the back of a chair. Place the clip over the back of a chair. Begin by placing a tall, flat piece of greenery at the top and back of the wet foam holder. Place a second piece of shorter, flat greenery at the bottom of the wet foam holder. I used smaller pieces of flat greenery to fill the sides of the clip. I used a fuller greenery to cover the top of the wet foam holder.
Insert the bow to the bottom of the wet foam holder. I placed the largest bloom close to the bow. I used taller, slender blooms to create height and lead to the larger blooms. I filled in with rose sprays and statice.
At the Church, slip the pew clips over the top of the pew.

Adorn the Reserved Seating with a simple bow and greenery!
When there are special seating for family members in an outdoor Wedding, simplicity is the key. White bows with greenery marks the chairs as reserved.
          You Will Need:
                    #40 Ribbon
                    #22 Florist Wire
                     Floral Wrap Tape
                     Flat Greenery
                     Greenery
For this event, I choose #40 white FloraSatin ribbon. FloraSatin ribbon contains plastic. This allows the ribbon to look great in all weather conditions. I used #40 because it is 2” wide which makes a larger bow.
Make the bow. (Refer to post of February 1, 2018.) Secure with a 18” #22 florist wire wrapped with florist wrap tape.  Set aside.
I use Jade and Leatherleaf greenery (available from local florists). Jade leaves are flat. I place one piece of Jade taller than the top of the chair. I turn the next piece of Jade upside down and below the first piece of Jade. Repeat the same pattern using the Leatherleaf greenery. I then take a 18” floral wrapped wire and secure the center of the greenery. Leave the ends of the wire long. Place the greenery against the side of the chair and wrap the wire ends around the chair side. Place the ends of the wire to the bow over the wire of the greenery. Tighten the wire so the bow stands firmly against the side of the chair. Hide all the ends of the wire in the greenery.
