Add color to Halloween by decorating with flowers!
I looked for a Skull open at the top and recessed eye sockets. I had to drill a hole in the eye socket to allow the flower stems to go in the floral foam. Cut a piece of floral foam to fit in the skull. Soak the foam until saturated. Place the soaked floral foam in the skull.
I chose yellow spray roses, orange miniature carnations and white button pom-poms for this arrangement.
Begin by placing the end of a single rose bloom in the floral foam through each eye socket. Add greenery to the top of the skull to cover the floral foam. Remember to follow the shape of the foam without covering the skull.
Trim the blooms from the bottom of a stem of spray roses. The tighter blooms should be at the top of the stem. Carefully cut the open blooms from the bottom of the stem. Set them aside. Place a long stem of the tight blooms at the center of the foam. Trim another stem of roses. Place the stem with tight blooms lower and to the right and lower than the first stem. Place longer open blooms, that were previously placed aside, to the left and lower than the other blooms. Continue placing the remaining open roses toward the base of the skull.
Trim the miniature carnations the same as the roses. Take a long stem of tight blooms of the miniature carnations and place it taller than the tallest rose. Follow the design of the roses and place miniature carnation between the rose blooms.
Add depth to your design by placing single blooms of the button pom-poms to the center of the container closer to the floral foam. This also ties in the color of the skull.
I would recommend placing the skull on a flat saucer before setting it on the table. This will protect any water spilling onto the table and also allow water to remain in the floral foam.

Don’t forget flowers to bring out your Team’s colors when decorating for your tailgate partying! Here are ideas to add flowers to the tailgate.
When tailgating in a crowd, uniqueness entices visitors. Many forget the impact of fresh colorful floral arrangements. Fresh flowers attract with scent as well as color. Friends will begin to look for your party! ![]()
Choose the placement of the arrangement. One option is to use a Team Tumbler as a vase. Make flower selections to showcase the colors of the team tumbler. A small container can attract a lot of attention. ![]()
Another option is to make a place of honor for a special keepsake. This mascot was a gift for a friend while in the hospital. Although he is no longer with us, we remember him when his mascot is front and center on the table. A larger arrangement draws attention to his special place of honor.
![]() Place a vase of flowers in the ice cooler! No one need ask when the beverages are found with a colorful arrangement of school colors. Place dowels in a matching Team hugger as a place card to remind guests the REAL reason for tailgating is to gather and support the TEAM! Have a great Football Season!
An eye catcher is decorating the brew!!
For this arrangement, I chose to use floral foam in the container. Placing the container in an ice chest, could cause the flowers to shift in the container. This is like the container is a boat and the flowers are passengers. I used foal foam to stabilize the arrangement. Cut the foam to tightly hug the container. Soak the foam overnight.
I selected fall colors and decorations to remain neutral on teams!! The arrangement may also be in colors of your favorite team. Select flowers for focal point, filler, and highlighting. In this arrangement the focal flowers are roses. Choose the blooms that will be used as the focal flower. Begin by placing the tallest flower in the center of the foam. Place the next bloom to the left and shorter than the first flower. Place the third bloom to the right of the first flower and shorter than the second bloom. Add greenery to the base of the container to conceal the floral foam. Place taller pieces of greenery at the base of the flowers and between the stems of the flowers.
Use the filler flowers of the flower choices to fill the spaces between the focal flowers. Place more of these filler flowers toward the rim of the container. In this arrangement, the filler flowers are red miniature carnations.
Chose a third flower to add highlights to the arrangement. Place these blooms throughout the arrangement. In this arrangement yellow daisy pom=poms are the highlighting.
Remember to create layers of flowers. Never have blooms of the same flower at the same height. Always remember to add dimension to an arrangement by carrying the eye to the center of the arrangement. Color creates dimension.
Fall Colors arranged in a Football brighten the snack table.
Cut the floral foam to fix the snack bowl. Soak the foam until fully saturated. Place the foam in the snack bowl and tape it with the waterproof floral tape. You may want to add more water to the bowl.
For this arrangement I chose to use red miniature carnations, yellow daisy pom-poms, and orange daisy pom-poms. Began the arrangement by placing short stems of fall leaves along the rim of snack bowl to cover the floral foam. I placed short stems of yellow daisy blooms in the leaves close to the edge of the bowl. I then placed tall red miniature carnations in the center of the bowl. Then, place a stem of red miniature carnations to the bottom left and right of the bowl with the stems resting on the rim. Place a stem of red miniature carnations to the left of the tall center stem, shorter than the center stem. Place a third stem of red miniature carnations to the right of the center shorter than the second stem of miniature carnations.
I then placed stems of fall leaves throughout the arrangement. Be sure to place the leaves at varying heights, don’t hesitate to go tall. Add taller yellow daisy pom-poms to the other flowers. Complete the arrangement by adding the orange daisy pom-poms throughout the arrangement.

I began this arrangement by cutting floral foam to fit the size of the mug. I elected to use foam because this would allow the pencils to be more stable in the arrangement. I also cut a v in the back of the foam to make watering the arrangement less messy.
I cut the stems of daisy pom-poms into pieces. Leaving the leaves in place, place blooms close to the rim of the mug. Place tall stem pieces in the center of the mug to add height. Continue placing pieces of the daisy poms to fill the arrangement.
Place the end of a pencil into the foam throughout the arrangement. I placed wood picks on 2 pencils and secured them with floral wrap. Place these pencils toward the top and center of the mud to continue the height.
Using the channel created in the back of the arrangement, water the arrangement often. Check the channel to see if there is any standing water. It is acceptable to keep water in this channel. This arrangement could last for days or longer.
