 Cleaning the blooms of the Easter Lily allows them to last longer!! The Easter Lily heralds the Holiday with beauty and fragrance! The aroma of the Easter Lily just brings Spring indoors. Make the enjoyment last longer by cleaning the pollen from the lily blooms as they begin to open.  This is accomplished by removing the pollen from the stamen of the bloom. When the bloom first pops open, the pollen is almost colorless and moist. It is easiest to remove the pollen at this stage. Try to remove the pollen as soon as you see the stamen on a bloom just beginning to open. The real trick is to allow the bloom to open enough to reach the stamen without tearing the bloom. As the bloom matures, the pollen dries, turns yellow, and turns to powder. Remove the pollen early - This powder stains.

 It was not unusual to wear corsages to church on Easter Sunday!! When my sister and I were little, Mother made us these Easter Bunny corsages. We felt left out because the ladies were wearing corsages and we did not have flowers. A corsage of larger flowers would be too big for our dresses. We enjoyed the Bunny corsage.
Easter was also a traditional time for families to gather. Baskets of fresh flowers would be given to the family hosting the gathering. Centerpieces of fresh spring flowers adorned the dinner table. The aroma of fresh flowers heralded Spring. This spring, reach back to earlier times! Celebrate with fresh flowers. Ceremonially present baskets of fresh spring flowers to family members.
