Flower Arrangement or Floral Design . . .

This is one of my favorite arrangements – Tulips!!
Growing up in a flower business, I saw a huge range of floral design. This range was so broad because of the talent of so many designers. In my opinion, after the introduction of flowers in the grocery stores, the emphasis on floral design diminished.
Professionally designed floral designs, arrangements or artwork incorporate the elements of floral design: line, form, space, texture, and color, and the principles of floral design: balance, proportion, rhythm, contrast, harmony, and unity. (Book of Floral Terminology, AIFD)
Floral design is an art. In art, there are many genres. My goal is to introduce the florists that created the different floral designs. The floral industry has gone through so much change! I am concentrating on my hometown of Mobile, AL. For this journey, I am not looking at the population or economic situation of Mobile. I am focusing on the flower shops listed for Mobile, Alabama.

Phase Two will focus on designers. I am excited to begin this phase. It will give me a chance to connect with old friends, and hopefully create new ones. What’s the difference between flower arrangement and a floral design? Is there a difference? These are questions I am dying to ask my designer friends!

Due to Covid issues, I am reiterating last week’s post. I hope to be able to interview people really soon. Thanks for your support.

Every successful venture has a mission statement!!

When I began this venture, I wanted to focus on the true purpose of
Techniques4Flowers. I knew it had to be background knowledge of
fresh flowers. I knew it had to be internet based. I knew it had to be
diverse. I knew it had to appeal to more than one person. This, to me, is
the Mission Statement that embraces this philosophy.

Phase One is complete. This phase is focused on the use of fresh
flowers found in the grocery stores. This is to give ideas to the DIY’s. I
have created a book from the blogs shared over the past four years.
This book is an ebook and is being compiled for sharing as I post this. It
will be available for subscription.

Phase Two will focus on designers. I am excited to begin this phase. It
will give me a chance to connect with old friends, and hopefully create
new ones.

Membership is now available through the product tab in the
Techniques4Flowers heading. I am offering an introductory offer of 6
months for the price of 1 month!! Codes will be given to members for
the presentation of the Techniques4Flowers Book. I think it will be so
much fun! Please Join Me!!
